That’s cool. We’ve got you. That’s what we do.
Less Than Three is a federated collective of designers, programmers and artists. (Though, really it’s all art in one form or another.) Between the lot of us, we can do most anything you need. We live and work wherever we want… just as long as there’s wifi.. Sometimes from our homes, sometimes whilst traveling the world. No matter where we are, we love solving problems. Take a look at our portfolio of work and then get in touch with us.

The Less Than Three Collective
Eli Duke
Eli is a Ruby / Rails developer in Portland, Oregon. After spending 4 years in Antarctica, Eli maintains the Luna Sandals website. He’s always improving the codebase and adding new features, while cutting out the cruft.
In 2006, Eli built ListYourList which is still the best damn website for making pointless lists. In addition to slinging code building websites, he always has his camera with him taking amazing photos of all of his adventures.
Tony Price
Tony (as seen here in his 6th grade yearbook photo) lives in Atlanta, Georgia and is a designer of several skills. By day, he's a web designer. By night, he's detailing one of kind hand-painted shoes.
He designs and lays out books, logos and identities, limited run screen-printed concert posters and skateboards. And did I mention the shoes? The shoes.
Bookis Smuin
Bookis is a co-founder and currently the CEO of Luna Sandals in Seattle, WA. He built the Luna website with full shopping cart, checkout and back-end for order and inventory management and customer support and relations.
Bookis has built several sites and stores using Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, jQuery, and TDD/BDD using MiniTest and RSpec. And he runs 100 mile races for fun.
Tj Nelson Jr
Tj, movie editor and picture maker, resides in Salt Lake City, Utah. He always has a camera with him at the ready and posts regularly to his personal website.
Tj has a long history of taking photos. He edits commercials, shorts and feature films. On top of that, he also shoots events, like Farmhouse Conf, epic road trips, and makes videos of his adventures. He’s the best there is.
Heather Peterson
Heather lives in LA and makes all of the things. She posts about her experiments and her project on her website. She is an art director on TV shows that you’ve probably watched.
She designs websites and blog themes. She hand draws assets for designs. She directs music videos, illustrates children’s books and paints pretty things on pieces of wood. And now she’s finally learning how to cook.
Shane Becker
Shane lives and works at The Farmhouse in Hollywood, California where he organizes and hosts Farmhouse Conf. He has been making websites for nearly 20 years for open source projects, and for big companies.
Shane designs in the browser, using Ruby, Rails, HTML5 and CSS3 employing the responsive design strategy (resize this window). He speaks at conferences about slide design and quitting your job.
Nicole Smith
Nicole is LA’s one two punch. On one hand, a whip smart print designer with a range from screen-printed concert posters to magazines, from album artwork and packaging to t-shirt design.
On the other hand, an event planner. She organizes everything from small exclusive dinner parties to music events with dozens of performers and thousands in attendance. Event staff, vegan catering, sound equipment... Nicole’s got it covered.
Steve Klabnik
Steve is an open-source programmer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania often traveling and speaking at conferences around the world. He maintains or two open source software projects, Hackety Hack! and Shoes.
He founded rstat.us. He is a sometimes contributor to The Change Log, teaches Ruby and Rails classes at JumpstartLab, blogs about literate programming and wrote the book on Hypermedia APIs.
